We were honored to welcome Lucie Moravcová to Tanzania for a week-long visit in Kilimanjaro, aimed at strengthening partnerships, enhancing collaboration, and deepening engagement with our members, partners, and stakeholders.
The visit marked an important
milestone in our ongoing commitment to organizational growth, community
development, and collaborative impact. Throughout the week, a series of
strategic meetings, field visits, media engagements, and cultural experiences
were carefully organized to ensure meaningful interaction and mutual learning.
Arrival and Orientation
Lucie arrived in Kilimanjaro on 2nd
December 2025 and was received and transferred to her hotel for rest and
acclimatization. The following day focused on settling in, personal time, and a
formal briefing session where the visit itinerary was reviewed and key
goals were discussed to guide the week’s engagements.
Institutional and Field
Engagements
On 4th December 2025,
Lucie participated in a campus visit to Mwenge Catholic University (MWECAU),
where she engaged in a Board Leadership Meeting. This session provided
an opportunity for formal introductions, leadership discussions, and
exploration of potential collaboration areas. The day also included a short field
visit to a member activity site, offering firsthand insight into ongoing
community initiatives.
The visit further included an office
orientation, where Lucie met the core organizational team and engaged in
in-depth discussions on current projects, administrative systems, and
operational structures.
Member and Partner Interactions
A key highlight of the visit was
the engagement with members and partners. On 5th December 2025, Lucie
met with the KCMC Mental Health Club and later held a session with
organizational members to listen to their experiences, perspectives, and
feedback.
On 6th December 2025,
partnership discussions continued with the Visionary Youth Foundation,
focusing on youth empowerment initiatives and potential joint programming. The
visit also included a meeting with WE ARE FOR THE SOCIETY (WAFOS), where
current collaborations and future strategic directions were discussed.
Media Outreach and Community
Visibility
Media engagement was an important
part of the visit. Lucie participated in live radio interviews at Moshi FM
and Fountain Radio, helping to amplify our mission, activities, and
partnership efforts to the wider community.
Cultural and Community Experience
Beyond formal meetings, the visit
incorporated cultural experiences, including a tour of the local Moshi
market, allowing Lucie to connect with the local community and culture. The
week concluded with a Thanksgiving Night with GIF Members, celebrating
shared achievements, fellowship, and partnership.
Conclusion
Lucie’s visit to Tanzania was
both impactful and inspiring. It strengthened existing relationships, opened
new avenues for collaboration, and reinforced our shared commitment to
community development and youth empowerment. We look forward to building on the
outcomes of this visit and continuing our partnership journey together.
